Elizabeth has followed her creative passion since the early 1980’s. Initially she had her own interior design practice (18 years), during which time she also studied fine arts under artists, Bryan Simmonds where she focussed on oils, Louise Lodge with acrylics and water colours, and Neil Elliott with mixed media.

Elizabeth was trained as an art assistant and an art mentor with people with profound and severe intellectual and physical disabilities. These people however, became Elizabeth’s teacher. They taught her a new type of awareness, listening and seeing, and embracing randomness. Hence her art changed from painting reality to exploring expression and a response from within.

Elizabeth’s artwork is intuitive and responsive, influenced mainly by the West Australian landscape. She often uses vibrant colours, capturing highly textural pieces capturing the rugged and often vast terrain. Her work expresses an intrinsic value to time and place which can be interpreted as embracing the moment. Many have commented that her work has a spiritual quality which takes the observer to another realm.
